On August 15th, permanent secretaries and senior representatives from the foreign ministries of nine Caribbean nations visited Shandong Heavy Industry Group for an inspection tour. Ambassador Tian Qi from the Latin American Department of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sun Yebao, Deputy Director and First-Class Inspector of the Provincial Committee's Foreign Affairs Office, accompanied the inspection. Zhang Gengsheng, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, participated in the event.
The delegation visited Shandong Heavy Industry Group's Future Science and Technology Exhibition Hall and expressed appreciation for the group's high-quality development in recent years, particularly its overseas business achievements. They expressed hope to strengthen dialogue and exchanges and enhance practical cooperation between both parties in the equipment manufacturing sector.
Shandong Heavy Industry has been actively optimizing its overseas market layout. In 2024, the group's export revenue from Caribbean markets exceeded 500 million yuan, making it an important growth market in the Americas region. Shandong Heavy Industry will use this inspection visit as an opportunity to fully leverage its technological leadership and industrial chain resource advantages in the global equipment manufacturing sector. Relying on the synergistic strength of its brand portfolio, the company will strengthen cooperation with Caribbean nations in new energy commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, smart logistics, and marine transportation equipment, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes while enhancing friendship between peoples.

Caribbean nations are located in Central America. The Association of Caribbean States was established in 1994, encompassing countries and territories around the Caribbean Sea, with a total of 37 members covering an area of more than 5 million square kilometers (including maritime areas) and a population of approximately 44 million. The visiting countries on this occasion include nine Caribbean nations with diplomatic relations with China: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
